I am experiencing slow network speeds

Speed is dependent on various factors such as coverage, network prioritisation website/app you are trying to load, specific countries national firewall, your device etc... You might want to consider eliminating the possibly your eSIM has not been installed properly.

If your eSIM requires you to manually add or update the Access Point Name (APN) settings, and you haven't configured them correctly, it may appear as if you're experiencing slow network speeds.

  • Set up your APN settings (if required)
  • Set the device to 3G temporarily

If you are still experiencing slow network speed after completing the above, please try:

  • Setting your device to 3G (if available)

Other Potential Factors for Slow Network Speeds

If you have followed the troubleshooting process and verified that your eSIM has been installed correctly, it's essential to consider other factors that could be contributing to the slow network speeds you're experiencing. One such factor could be related to your location and the surrounding environment.

Location and Environmental Factors

  1. Building Interference: Certain buildings, especially those with thick concrete walls or metal structures, can cause significant interference and obstruction to cellular signals, leading to slower data speeds or even connectivity issues.
  2. Distance from Cell Tower: The farther you are from the nearest cell tower or mobile network mast, the weaker the signal strength becomes, which can result in slower data transfer rates.
  3. Congested Areas: In densely populated areas with a high concentration of mobile users, network congestion can occur, leading to slower speeds for everyone connected to the same cell tower.
  4. Geographical Obstacles: Natural obstacles like mountains, hills, or dense foliage can also impede cellular signals, affecting the quality and speed of your mobile data connection.

Troubleshooting Steps

If you suspect that your location or environmental factors are contributing to the slow network speeds, consider the following steps:

  1. Change Locations: Try moving to a different location, preferably with a clear line of sight to the nearest cell tower or away from potential sources of interference.
  2. Use Wi-Fi: If available, connect to a reliable Wi-Fi network instead of relying on cellular data, as it may provide faster and more stable internet speeds.
  3. Check Network Coverage Maps: Consult your carrier's network coverage maps to identify areas with strong signal strength and avoid locations with known coverage issues.

By considering these location and environmental factors, you can better understand the potential causes of slow network speeds and take appropriate steps to mitigate or resolve the issue. Please contact customer service team if you require further information.
